Combat report: 2 February 1945 |
(1 Dornier Do217 shared)
I was flying Green 4, when in the Paderborn area, Green 3 called up and said there was an aircraft underneath, flying on deck. As I straightened up from my dive I saw an aircraft just touching down. I saw Green 3 shoot at it and observed numerous strikes. I went in fairly flat and fired a good three second burst from 300 yards range and saw several strikes. As I pulled up I looked back and saw the Do217 burning on the ground.
