| AMT - TEMPEST MK. V Address: Scale: 1/48 Kit: Kit is a Mk.V with a four-bladed prop and a sliding bubbletop canopy, which is molded in one piece. No ordnance or racks included with the kit. On the box it shows two cannon openings in each wing but on the model there are no holes. Kit is a Mk.V with a four-bladed prop and a sliding bubbletop canopy, which is molded in one piece. No ordnance or racks included with the kit. On the box it shows two cannon openings in each wing but on the model there are no holes.
A nice looking kit, cleanly molded in sturdy white plastic with very fine (I've never seen any finer than these) raised panel lines. The wings, stabs and vertical fin are all separate and in halves with one lower wing half containing the belly of the fuselage. There are two sets of gear doors, one for gear up and one for gear down, a cockpit floor with the seat and rear bulkhead molded to it. There are no sidewalls but the curvature of the fuselage and some dark paint should do a fair job of hiding that fact. No wheel wells but there is a recessed lip in the lower wing for the door edges and the rest of the wing is so thin that if left on its wheels it should look fine. The decals look good, on the box it says they're for No.56 Squadron with the codes 'US-H'.
