 Yury Alexandrov's Tempest Mk. V

Yury Alexandrov (Riga, Latvia) built this fantastic Tempest from Richard J.Caruana's drawings found on this website. The scale is 1/11 and wingspan 1160 mm. The fuselage and wing are balsa built-up and covered with 4mm foam, and then finished with synthetic silk on water based polyurethan. The canopy is made from a plastic bottle and the cowl is made of fiberglass. Both the main (Great Planes) and tail gear (hand-made) are retractable! The model is painted as SA-N (JN766).
Yury has made 5 flights so far and reports that it's a "fantastic bird"!
