Career Details
Flight Lieutenant Malcolm F Edwards flew Tempest with 3 Squadron in 1944.

 

In the morning on 29 December 1944 Edwards flew an armed reconnaissance. North of Rhine the four 3 Squadron aircraft were attacked from above by 20-plus Bf109s and Fw190s. Edwards, flying JF-V (EJ803), was shot down by a Bf109 from IV/JG27, and killed.

 

On the same sortie his friend F/O Ken Slade-Betts was also lost. They are now buried next to each other in the Reichswald cemetery , Germany.

 

 

Edwards victories in Tempest are 12 V-1s (7 confirmed) and 5 shared.
