Flying Officer John "Johnny" Spence

Career Details
F/O John "Johnny" Spence (1921-2006) joined 274 squadron on January 16 1945. He was shot down with S/L Fairbanks on February 28 1945(described by Pierre Clostermann in the Big Show) and spent the rest of the war as a POW.

Prior to joining 274 he had flown Spitfires with 602 Squadron on and off from Nov 1942.
