Warrant Officer AJ Brocklehurst (Jim) flew Hurricane Mk. IVs with No. 287 Squadron from January to December 1944 before joining No 56 Sqn to fly Tempest Mk. V.

After the war he worked for GEC as a salesman for a number of years before buying a Bed and Breakfast hotel with his wife in Broadstairs, Kent, overlooking the sea to a free Europe. He sadly past away in February 1993 aged 72.
